In the city of Den Haag a cultural epicenter is located, called 'De Illusie'. A house which is squatted for more than 15 years. The building hosts concerts, exhibitions, performances, lectures and all kind of other cultural events. Next to that, more than 25 people live and work in the house. Many artists have their ateliers on the ground floor. As this building is not an official institution it is open for all kind of events; from byzantine choir to the naked drummer. Anything can happen - everybody is welcome.
This book is a celebration and notification of the last 15 years of 'De Illusie'. An incomplete, unscrupulous overview. It gives you an idea what you missed, and what you can expect in the future.
Underware made this book together with BuroLamp and the people living in the house... and yes, the Underware studio is was located in 'De Illusie'.
