The TransformX conference, organised by Scale in October 2022, used a colour version of the Plakato font. The COLRv1 font format allows us type designers to add colours to fonts. Such new techniques will then become first possible in browsers, but other applications will soon follow. At the TransformX conference, the speakers were announced with the font Plakato Color (in the COLRv1 format), in a colour palette that matches the identity of the conference. It’s good to see new techniques finding their own way out there in the world, and this is a very early example of that.
